Everything most clients need to know before ordering. If your question is not here, our case managers answer email within one business day, in English or Chinese.
An exclusion result is 100% definitive. An inclusion result for a standard paternity test is reported at 99.99% probability or higher, and often 99.9999% when the mother's sample is included. We test 24 genetic loci as standard and can extend to thousands of markers with NGS for complex kinship cases.
Tell us before ordering. Brothers share roughly half their DNA, so we extend the marker panel and apply kinship index calculations to separate the candidates. In genuinely identical-twin situations, neither we nor any other laboratory can distinguish the two; no ethical provider would claim otherwise.
Yes. A duo test (alleged father and child) is valid and definitive for exclusions. Adding the mother simply raises the statistical strength of an inclusion, so we include her at no extra cost when she is willing to participate.
Buccal swabs are the default and most reliable option. We also accept blood spot cards, hair follicles with the root attached, fingernail clippings and, where legally permissible, discreet items like toothbrushes. Discreet samples carry a small handling surcharge and a modest failure risk, so we always discuss suitability first.
Only the parties you name on the consent form. Each adult participant signs their own consent at collection, and no report is released without it. We never share data with insurers, employers, or third-party databases, and we do not sell genetic data under any circumstances.
Biological samples are destroyed within 60 days of issuing the report. You can request destruction sooner, or request longer retention in writing if you intend to re-open the case later. Report records are kept for the period required of licensed Chinese testing laboratories, then deleted.
The laboratory analysis is identical. The difference is documentation: legal results require witnessed collection, photographic identity verification, a continuous chain of custody and a notarised report. If you might need the result later for court or immigration, order the legal option from the start.
We operate under GDPR for European clients and HIPAA-grade safeguards for healthcare data globally. All records are encrypted at rest with AES-256, transferred over TLS 1.3, and hosted on servers located in the European Union.
Kits usually ship within one business day and take 3–7 working days depending on destination. Express courier roughly halves that. The return envelope is pre-addressed and, where postal regulations permit, prepaid.
No. Everything ships in plain packaging with a neutral return address and no testing references anywhere on the outside. Contents are declared generically as "medical sample collection kit" for customs purposes.
Prices are quoted in USD, and we invoice in USD, EUR, GBP or CNY at the day's exchange rate. Payment is accepted by major credit and debit card, PayPal, and bank transfer. Corporate and law-firm accounts can be opened with 30-day terms.
Yes, any time before your samples enter analysis. Once analysis has begun we cannot refund, because laboratory processing cannot be undone. Contact your case manager immediately and we will stop your kit if it has not yet been processed.
Yes. Testing a minor requires the written consent of the child's legal guardian, and a guardian must supervise sample collection. We reserve the right to decline a case if we believe consent has not been freely given or local law prohibits the test.
